The Institute of Professional Studies (IPS) was formally established in the Year 2002 as the Kuenphen Institute of Information and Technology and
later changed to the Institute of Professional Studies. It is one of the oldest Institutes in Thimphu. The main purpose of the establishment of
Institute is to serve the most crucial needed services, especially in the field of Tourism and Hospitality, Information Technology, Accounting
and Management, and various Human Resource Development training.
The Institute intends to provide need-based technical and vocational education courses for both pre and in-service candidates as per the
requirement of individual persons and firms, provide quality skills training to meet the skills required by the public and private sectors and provide
customized training services to enterprises and the government for specialist skills development.
